Poppy Easter!

I'm sure we suggested it first, but since Ford went along with it, he gave his poppy (pacifier) to the Easter bunny. He reluctantly put his poppy in his Easter basket on Saturday night in the hopes that the Easter bunny would bring him presents. And he did!

It's easy to get wrapped up in all the pastel colors and candy. Let us not forget the true meaning of Easter, the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ our Savior!

Spring Break

This week was Metro schools spring break, so that meant that most of the playschools were closed also. I didn't have bible study on Wednesday and Ford didn't have school on Friday. So we planned some fun things this week so he could have some time playing with kids. Here is a look at our fun week!

Ford and I made St. Patrick's Day cookies on Monday. Look how happy he was about them:
On Wednesday, we went to Bowling Green to hang out with all the Cothrans and Uncle Chris and Aunt Leigh Ann. Check out Ford in Audrey's pink cowboy boots:

On Thursday, we went to Will's house:

On Friday we went to Dragon Park (note the mosaic dragon in the background) to play with Noelle:

This Week

This week has been pretty low-key for us. I have been away for the past two weekends, so it was nice to not have anything planned for this weekend.

We had a visit from Audrey and Granny on Tuesday. Mom thought Audrey might like to come and play with Ford, so they stayed all day and played.

Here is a similar picture of Ford and Audrey from about a year and a half ago:

Since we didn't have anything going on, I was able to watch most of the SEC tournament. Much to my dismay, Kentucky didn't win their game.

That's about all I have for now. I hope you all have a nice week and Happy Easter!

C-A-T-S

For Valentine's Day, my sweet husband got us tickets to watch UK play basketball against Florida at Rupp Arena. Next to my engagement ring, it's probably my favorite gift I've ever gotten. I have been a Kentucky basketball fan for longer than I can remember.

I really could talk all day long about KY basketball. But, unless you are a fan yourself, you'd be bored to death reading about it. So, I'll just say it was a wonderful experience. Being surrounded by all 24,000+ fans, seeing the seniors presented with their jerseys, My Old Kentucky Home being sung before the game, winning the game!...it was a magical day for me. Thanks, Scott!

Now, as we head into the SEC tournament, there's just one thing left to say...."C-A-T-S, CATS, CATS, CATS! GOOOOOOOOO CATS!"

The Twins are Here!

The twins arrived into the world at 9:10am and 9:11am. Amelia Kate beat her baby brother, Luke Allen, by one minute. She weighs 6lbs/4oz and is 19.75 inches long and he weighs 6lbs/12oz and is 19.5 inches long. The babies are doing amazingly well. Tiffany is recovering from her C-section, but other than that is doing well too.

This past weekend, I went on a women's retreat with my church. We went to Natchez Trace State Park and stayed at a lodge there. It was a wonderful, peaceful weekend and it was nice to spend it with the sweet ladies from my community group and church. Here is the view from our balcony:Sunday afternoon, after I got home, Scott, Ford and I went to the park. Here is a picture of Ford at the park in his cute Master's shirt from Grana and Papa Forest. Here is a funny picture from the park. Notice the "big" boys playing on the slide. Whenever Ford sees "big" kids, he likes to stand in close proximity to them. When they laugh, he'll laugh really loudly as if he is part of the conversation. It really is a hoot to see. Those boys were probably eight or nine and couldn't have cared less that Ford was standing there. Thankfully, at this age, Ford doesn't really know the difference. This past week, we had dinner with Suzanne and her sweet baby Benjamin. We were so glad to be able to spend some time with Suzanne and Ben. Look how cute he is!A strange phenomenon happened last week. Ford took a long nap and when he woke up, I went in to check on him. He didn't want to get out of his bed. We've only been allowing him to have his poppy (pacie)when he's in his bed, so that may have been why he wanted to stay in there. I asked him if he wanted to read his books in his bed. He said yes and I gave him a few books and told him to yell for me when he was ready to get out. About every five of ten minutes I would go check on him, he'd ask for more books and I'd tell him to yell when he was ready to get out. He stayed in his bed and "read" quietly for over an hour! I couldn't believe it!
Well, I guess that's all for now. I'll end with some pictures from the past week. Ford in his Yoda shirt from Uncle Greg:

Hopefully my next post will be pictures of the twins on Wednesday! Have a safe and wonderful week!
